Our open letter to Education Minister calling for RSE in schools Raise Your Voice has always promoted cultural change as the best way to tackle sexual harassment and violence, and we firmly believe the best place to start is education. We therefore wrote an open letter to NI Education Minister Peter Weir calling for comprehensive, statutory, standardised Relationships & Sexuality Education in all schools. We had hundreds of signatures from organisations and individuals and sent the letter to the minister at the start of May. Watch this space for developments. As part of this call we ran a successful online event called ‘Why we support the call for RSE in schools’ with speakers from Rape Crisis NI, Unison Education Branch, Transgender NI, Alliance for Choice Belfast, NI Women's European Platform (NIWEP), The Homeless Period Belfast and Relate NI. All speakers brilliantly conveyed the many reasons why RSE in schools must be addressed as a matter of urgency. You can watch the video here
